In our ongoing efforts to leverage innovative technology and streamline workflows, we at RAHB are proud to introduce our latest project: Chat²GPT, a sophisticated chatbot developed for Google Chat and powered by OpenAI’s GPT-3.5-turbo, the underlying model of ChatGPT.

The Power of Chat²GPT

Chat²GPT enables our staff to quickly and easily get answers to common questions, helping us serve our members better. It is more than just a chatbot—it’s a testament to the capabilities of AI. The name Chat²GPT is our playful nod to the fact that it’s a chat bot for Google Chat that uses ChatGPT, taking the concept of ‘chat’ to a whole new level!

An Inside Look at the Chat²GPT Setup

Our Chat²GPT bot is deployed on Google Cloud Functions, ensuring high scalability and reliability. The continuous deployment pipeline for this project is efficiently managed using GitHub Actions, a key aspect in maintaining the up-to-date performance of the bot.

We started out with a basic chatbot, which served its purpose but had room for enhancement. With the help of OpenAI’s Code Interpreter plugin for GPT-4, we managed to refactor our bot to use the simpleaichat library, an entirely different library that offers more features and allows for the maintenance of user chat histories.

This was not a simple process—it involved a series of iterative improvements, bug squashing, and testing. But the result was well worth it. Our chatbot is now more robust and capable, offering a better user experience while also being more cost-effective.
